Gun Emporium Tullamarine has two Victorian Police accredited recreational Longarms instructors that conduct firearm safety examinations on a regular basis.

The firearms licence safety examination is only one of the steps required to obtain your firearms licence. Please ensure you meet all of the eligibility requirements at the below web address before booking in for this course.

After Course Attendance:

Once you have attended and successfully passed the Firearm Safety Examination you will need to apply for your license through the Victorian Police Eportal,

Reasons For Applying:

Reasons for applying for a Victorian Recreational Firearms license vary, for sporting/ target use you will need to belong to a suitable (and approved by Victorian Police) club/ association. We suggest the following are worth looking at.

Licence Options:

If you want to hunt primarily you will need either a game license or your chosen game species, available from the Game Management Authority.

Alternatively, you can just register to hunt pest species on crown land. While a game licence is not required to hunt pest animals, some hunters will need to get a Registration of interest to hunt pest animals on Crown land in order to have a genuine reason to obtain a firearm with which to hunt pest animals.  The Registration of interest to hunt pest animals on Crown land can be obtained by contacting the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning on 136 186.
